Spectrum Care Academy provides Psychiatric Residential Treatment for children regardless of race, religion, sex, ethnic background, handicap, or ability to pay. However, referrals must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for admission:
• An Axis I DSM IV diagnosis
• An Axis V GAF score of less than 49 and/or significant impairment of social, interpersonal and/or educational/vocational functioning, which requires the provision of moderately intense, multi-disciplinary treatment interventions
• An IQ above 70 or Clinical Director's special considerations
• A history of severe impulsivity; poor judgement; suicidal ideation and/or aggressive behaviors
• A history of severe neglect, physical and/or sexual abuse
